"We're ready to start drawing up the first plan of a nuclear power plant, obviously with peaceful aims," Chavez said. (Aprl 2, 2010) So now that we have disabled ours in Turkey and there isn't much doubt now that Iran has bomb grade nukes we pretty much gave up our power in that area of the world. And uh... if Venezuela has nukes soon I guess they will be as capable as us in South America. In South America you don't need a lot of nukes and they don't have to fly very far to be uber powerful.
Most important why are we cool with Venezuela building a nuclear power plant when we were told they were too rough on the environment to build nuclear power plants ourselves. Why did we just take a big step back from being a world power? Why isn't anyone talking about it?

Do I have this right? We are signing a treaty with Russia so that we both reduce our nuclear arsenel. The only stipulation is that Russia gets to sell theirs to a country awfully close to to the USA.

Just a little worried here in the heartland

I am not sure why Obama is still out trying to sell his health care plan. It is already law. Is anyone else worried about what is coming if he is still selling it? Could it be that it is a terribly expensive plan to give Government more power? It's beginning to get exposed for what it is and Obama is trying to get in front of the soon coming complete rejection of the American people? Why all the rumblings about the USA becoming a socialist country? Actually I am not worried at all about what is coming, I know what is coming and I hate it.

From the Heritage Foundation:
The President’s health care law is only eight days old, and already it has cost our economy billions of dollars. Late last week, AT&T alone took a $1 billion charge because of the impact of the bill, and the consulting firm Towers Watson told the Wall Street Journal that the total hit this year will reach nearly $14 billion. It is sad, given the present state of our economy, that the President’s party in Congress has reacted not by trying to find ways to spare the jobs that will be lost because of this law. Instead, they are trying to intimidate companies that take such charges with threats that they will be hauled in before the Energy and Commerce Committee.

www.heritage.org

Oh no Obama didn't go there! The spending on it is so out of control they didn't even send the complete package to the Congressional Budget Office to be analyzed. This is coming from the guy that tripled the debt that dead beat Bush left us.
Obama says we need to free up financial markets. Really? His banking policies have made banks pucker up with commercial loans. Has anyone noticed the construction industry is dying a slow painful death? This new health care plan is so crooked that even bribes couldn't get the job done for Obama and crew, so they changed the rules on how many votes they needed to pass it. Their justification is that the reconciliation rule has been used before including the Bush tax cuts. I thought they hated Bush, that he was nothing more than a stupid cowboy. And they don't want that. I know there are people who are disabled and need assistance. Let's deal with those who are truly less forunate not the lazy people, not the illegals and not the whole nation! Actually it isn't that he hasn't learned, it is that he doesn't care what we want. If the heated healthcare debate causing democrat congressmen to retire and the Massachusetts election doesn't teach him anything, he really doesn't care. I really thought he was going to move more towards the center of the political spectrum this year being an election year. Instead he has doubled down by proposing a budget that will have an adverse effect on this country for generations. He will leave democrat congress road kill behind him as he continues to try and ram his agenda down our throats. Nothing will distract Obama from his push to move this country towards socialism. My boss is always talking about things that are ironic, probably because he is so sharp he notices.

I'll give it a try:

Isn't it ironic that in Obama's final week of his first year as President the Republicans win a solidly held Democrat senate seat in Massachusetts? There is no bigger Democrat base than Massachusetts.

Isn't it ironic that Obama was spewing out in a speech in Ohio(D) that he would have healthcare and jobs for everybody, he said he isn't going to quit fighting until he achieves that. Doesn't he see that his health care plan is keeping people from jobs? I am in a hiring position. How can I recommend another person when we have no idea what they will cost us in the near future if his plan goes through?

Is it not ironic that when Exxon made 45 billion dollars, the biggest profit in one year by one company in the history of the United States, they were absolutely raked over the coals by our Government? However, this past year the Fed topped it with a 48 billion dollar profit and they won't open their books to anyone including the US Congress.

Makes ya say Hmmmm.....

Why does California want to legalize marijuana to help with their economy but not offshore drilling? Please send one to yours, there is a link on the right side of my blog that makes it easy to contact your Senator. Feel free to copy and paste any portion of my letter that you like.

Dear Senator XXXX,
Thank you for your response to my last email regarding health care. A quote from your form letter reads, "I have said that reform must make coverage more affordable, reliable and accessible without breaking the bank, and I supported H.R. 3590 because I believe the Senate legislation achieves these goals." There are ways to achieve these same objectives without Government intervention. It also achieves my participation in the payment of abortions and takes billions from my parents healthcare, please don't insult my intelligence with such political spin. It will not reduce costs over time. As a matter of fact there are costs associated with it for years before we see one benefit. As of Jan. 3, 2010 52% Americans oppose this bill and 42% Americans support it. So please Mr. XXXX please quit with the spin and do what is right. If this was a good bill, you and I both know there wouldn't be bribes involved and we would see the transparent debate promised to us that isn't being provided. What is it that you people don't want us to see?

TSA is hilarious

So the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) screwed up and let someone get through their check point in the Newark airport of all places. Then as a result the terminal was evacuated. Then thousands of people were re-screened, causing a basic shut down for hours. I have not been able to tell what that did to peoples flights, how many folks had to spend the night in the airport, etc. Apparently all flights were grounded and even the passengers who had boarded planes had to get off and be screened again.

The TSA blamed Continental Airlines for not providing access to monitors in a timely manner which they say caused the delays. Bahahahaha.... are they trying to say if the TSA (Government)had more power with the screening this wouldn't have been such a mess? The TSA messed up in what they were supposed to be doing and then said it is becuase they don't have enough control. bahahaha. That means they voted for you to help pay for Medicare/Medicaid to the people of Nebraska and Louisiana. Those states received special "deals" to persuade their vote. I would call it a bribe, but hey that's just me. The most troubling piece of that is they were bribed with our tax money and the people of several of these states don't even want the handout, they want to be responsible for themselves. Your taxes will pay the Medicare for your state and the states that required a bribe just to get the bill passed. In the case of Nebraska, we will pay forever. For Louisiana we only have to pay them 300 million, argggg. Each of the above states negotiated their own deal.
The Senate will actually vote on this bill tomorrow night, please write your representative and tell them to represent your state, and not just go along with a certain policial party. Barely 40% of us want this bill to be passed. Scroll down to my post about 5 items of craziness in the bill and you will find reasons to oppose this bill as well.

Merry Christmas! Can someone please explain why 30 Billion dollars sent to poor tropical countries is going to change the weather? Seriously, for the sake of argument, let's say industry can change the weather. It isn't the 3rd world countries creating the problem. Is it that we just feel guilty that we are so industrialized that I feel I need to sacrifice to some 3rd world country. No, I am rather proud of our achievements and I am proud of my country, I have no apologies to make.

I have news for these crazies. AMERICA IS POOR TOO! We are borrowing at a such a rate, some folks say that we can never repay it. In effect we are going to borrow money from probably China, who thinks this whole climate thing is a bunch of hog wash and give it to other countries. Is there a better reason for the Chinese to cut us off? I am just hoping that this takes some sort of congressional approval. And I hope it gets delayed until after the elections. By the way, these payments ramp up to 100 billion per year in 10 years. I guess I was hoping that there might be some of the social security money that I have been paying towards when I come of age. No, our administration finds poor tropical countries more important than our own.

We want Condi, We want Condi, We want Condi

Whether or not you liked Pres. Apparently, he hasn’t given gifts to his kids in the past because he refused to celebrate Christmas. He wanted to take down the nativity scene at the white house until he gave into tradition, go figure Obama caved. Someone please prove me wrong. I have gone from thinking he is the most ineffective President in my lifetime to thinking he is an idiot. I have tried to stay away from hate, anyone who denies the meaning of of Christmas is a person I have absolutely no respect for. EVERYONE will pay additional taxes to help fund abortions. My problem with that is that means I am participating in abortions. Whether or not you support the legality of abortions, how do you feel paying for someone else’s?

2. The Senator from Louisiana, Sen. Landrieu. Was given $300,000,000.00 to fund Medicare in her state to sway her vote. She was prepared to vote against even bringing this discussion to the floor. Instead, she was bribed and she caved and now you and I will pay Louisiana 300 million dollars.

3. It starts taxing as soon as it is passed but doesn't go into effect until 2013. That means in the first 10 years we will pay for 10 but only get anything out of if for 6. This is one way they used to tweak the numbers and it is widely known. It is so crazy you would think I am lying.

4. It goes into effect in 2013, our next presidential election is in 2012. If this was a wonderful plan, it would be in effect before the next presidential election. This whole idea is absurd why else would the plan go into effect after we can't vote Obama out?

5.Kiss your health care as you know it goodbye. They have already tipped their hat to let us know what to expect by telling us that women should wait until they are 50 instead of 40 for breast exams. And that women would see their Gynecologist every other year instead of every year. How again is this going to make anyone any healthier? The health care rationing is already beginning and the bill hasn't even passed yet.

Obama to announce Afgan decision on Dec. 1st? Really?

I am going to give our President the benefit of the doubt and hope he has made his decision and the new strategy is going into effect today. He had a "rigorous" meeting regarding the subject yesterday. If December 1st is the magical day that he will announce his decision, that has to mean he has made a decision. Our Generals on the ground made recommendations in August and he is going to tell us what his decision is on December 1st meaning he has dithered for 3-4 months.

Prediction: He knows today what his decision is, however he needs to give time to his speech writers and aids to come up with something glossy. His approval rating is sinking fast so this has to be a major victory for him. He has been so committed to healthcare and globetrotting that I do believe it has taken him this long because the war is not as high on his priority list as health care. Crazy but it is the only reason he would wait to give our troops what they need to win.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blogbybryan.blogspot.com/2009/11/obama-to-announce-afgan-decision-on-dec.html' title='Obama to announce Afgan decision on Dec. 1st? Interestingly the American Cancer Society recommends 40. My sister in law who is under 50 and just starting chemotherapy for breast cancer would disagree with the government's opinion. If the key to stopping cancer is early detection, why should anyone decide to wait another 10 years for something as simple as a screening?

Here is the scary part. There has been a lot of debate about how intrusive government will be once their health care bill passes. This is a perfect example of them wanting to control your life. The ONLY reason that the government would recommend to wait for a breast cancer screening is to save money. Obviously, it isn't healthier for women. This is a trial balloon floated out there to see what we will tolerate. Seniors beware... I am sure you are next. Oh yeah... they already want to cut 500 billion from Medicaid or Medicare. I am sure the media will say that is not many people, in reality it is more people than the population of a lot of American towns. Virginia and New Jersey were just swept clean by Republicans. Some would say (Hannity) in total disagreement of Obama's policies, I will go a little easier and say say partially because we don't want the government to run our lives.

I am great with reforming health care. In fact I think there needs to be reform. What so many people don't understand is that the Republicans have great reform ideas that are even documented and read to discuss. The Republicans want to reform healthcare without the government running it which makes so much sense. It is too bad the other side isn't interested in a non partisan solution. Ummm... I am pretty sure this is another broken campaign promise. Furthermore... I am still waiting for the TV coverage of the healthcare debate.

Nonetheless.. on Saturday Nancy Pelosi(D) will have the House of Representatives vote on this to shove it down our throats without consideration of what the other half of the country thinks.

UNREAL, Conservatives are waking up! A buddy of mine from Texas emailed this to me. I have a hard time reading a long article but I am glad I did this one. Have a little patience on this, the American Thinker is soooo right. Thanks M -

by Geoffrey P. Hunt - An article from American Thinker (August 31, 2009)

Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson. In the modern era, we've seen several failed presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ. Failed presidents have one strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party. Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China .

But, Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Clarice Feldman of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.

But, there is something more seriously wrong: How could a ne w president riding in on a wave of unprecedented promise and goodwill have forfeited his tenure and become a lame duck in six months? His poll ratings are in free fall. In generic balloting, the Republicans have now seized a five point advantage. This truly is unbelievable. What's going on?

No narrative. Obama doesn't have a narrative. No, not a narrative about himself. He has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly disguised or written by someone else. But this self-narrative is isolated and doesn't connect with us. He doesn't have an American narrative that draws upon the rest of us. All successful presidents have a narrative about the American character that intersects with their own where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with the majority of Americans. We admire those presidents whose narratives not only touch our own, but who seem stronger, wiser, and smarter than we are. Presidents we admire are aspirational peers, even those whose politics don't align exactly with our own: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Ike, Reagan.

But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing about economics, is historically illiterate, and woefully small minded for the size of the task--all contributory of course. It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper. Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.

In the meantime, while we've been struggling to take a measurement of this man, he 's dissed just about every one of us--financiers, energy producers, banks, insurance executives, police officers, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, post office workers, and anybody else who has a non-green job. Expect Obama to lament at his last press conference in 2012: "For those of you I offended, I apologize. For those of you who were not offended, you just didn't give me enough time; if only I'd had a second term, I could have offended you too."

Mercifully, the Founders at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 devised a useful remedy for such a desperate state--staggered terms for both houses of the legislature and the executive. An equally abominable Congress can get voted out next year. With a new Congress, there's always hope of legislative gridlock until we vote for president again two short years after that.

Yes, small presidents do fail, Barack Obama among them. The coyotes howl but the wagon train keeps rolling along.

Is Rush Limbaugh right?

Limbaugh contends that the healthcare plans of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are more about their political future than compassion for America. Hmm...is he right? The American people have spoken in town hall meetings and with the Tea Party projects. All of the polling shows we do not want this. We don't like the idea of a massive and probably government run healthcare system. We know that it is only time before they are telling us we are too fat, we eat wrong, we need to exercise more etc. Anybody that smokes or drinks should pay even more because they create a higher risk. The control government will have over us under the name of "health care" is crazy. As a result this puts Democratic leaders in power for as long as they want to stay there.

So I ask the question... is this more about their power and careers? If so is it theft? We don't want to give up money to support this health care plan yet they are going to take if from us anyway. This is a really expensive plan. If they were so concerned about health care would Medicare be going broke? It seems outlandish that Limbaugh would call them thieves but I wonder. We don't want it, they know it, it isn't beneficial to most Americans, it is beneficial to those in Washington DC. Is it theft?

The mega powerful MOVEON.ORG making threats. Blog by Bryan is hereby firing back. I can say, I think, I am pretty sure that some of the 43 people that hit this blog so far today won't vote for any Repbublican that votes FOR the public option, there take that.

Oh... I get it I just checked the President's approval ratings, it looks like things are headed south. This would not only be a terrible blow to the President but the whole Democratic party who now owns the public option piece of the bill 100%. Olympia Snow(e) bailed on it yesterday, she was the sole Republican supporter of the current legislation. Hmmm... no wonder moveon.org is making huge threats. He says a lot of things I agree with. He is a Reagan Conservative with lots of ideas that support his political stance.

Over the past few months has been intentionally taking calls from liberal democrats. Just hang on with me and you will be excited too. We have heard Obama say over and over again that it will be unlawful for insurance companies to not accept a customer due to pre existing conditions.

Fantastic! This is what we are all going to love. So cancel your insurance plan insurance until you need it. In other words I am going to cancel my insurace coverage as soon as possible and quit paying these blasted monthly fees. Then when I am feeling sick or get hurt I will just stop by the insurance company on the way to the Doctor's office or emergency room and get a policy to take with me. Once I am treated and have all my meds under my new insurance plan I will just cancel the plan again and not pay any monthly fees. This is going to be great. I can't wait to save all that money.

Obviously I am joking. The President now is using the word "reform" in context like the only way our current health care system will change is if we go with a government managed system. There can be a lot of change for the better without having the government try manage your health. I don't know why I am trying to convince my readers of this, we have already spoken. We don't want the government to manage our health...they are going to try and do it anyway. Vote them out in 2010.

Why I don't support Obama

I respect the office of the President and I give some props to Obama for being succesful in his career. However since I don't approve of the job he is doing, I will write the reasons why so that when conservative haters get on here, they can simply refer to the list below before they start trumping up inaccurate posts.

1. Obama is not a man of his word. He said he was going to post all legislation online before it was voted on. There was a recent vote to make that happen and it failed. Did Obama support the bill? I don't know we never heard from him about it he certainly didn't get behind it like healthcare or cap and tax. He speaks like he is a moderate Democrat yet he governs like a liberal. He claimed he would put an end to earmarks. There were something like 8,000 in the past budget he approved. While Bush was President he had no support for the war in Iraq, he only would be critical by making it known that Afganastan is where we should be, he is doing a terrible job there. And he was going to shut down Gitmo immediately, it is still open. He was going to end the war in Iraq. Now we are hearing it could be 3 years befoe we claim victory.

2. I am sick of seeing his mug on TV. I don't know why he thinks he needs to be appearring on late night TV shows. Why is he filming commercials with George Lopez? Actually I do know the answer. It is becuase he wants to keep the media in the bag. They report on him so favorably it isn't even funny. I wish the media would be informational and reliable. However, they are in the tank for Obama since Obama also does favors for them to drive up ratings.

3. I have been in the work force for 28 years. I have always provided a comfortable living for myself by hardwork and dedication. It would be the opinion of our President that I don't deserve what I have and that I should give it to those who haven't worked as hard in life. I understand there truly are a few folks that genuinely need assistance, don't get me wrong. At the same time, he is riding around in Airforce One like he has a new toy and his enterage when he travels is absurd. Why should he be able to take the largest, least economical jet when he travels yet he blew a gasket with CEO's of private industry fly jets.

4. He is way to much of a socialist for me. According to today's published online polls, only 41% of us want the Government to run our health care system, he is going to try and ram it down our throats anyway. You either believe in free market enterprise or a socialistic financial system, Obama would be the latter. He stole Chevrolet from the rightful owners. These people paid for their shares of the company and he gave it to the union. He forced Dodge into bankruptcy. He has meddled in the banking industry. He appoints Czars. Where again do Czars fit into a free republic?

I will keep this a limited list for now. There is no opinion in the above statements, just facts. I don't agree with how he leads.

Inspired to get the 'ol Blog fired up again

I was checking out some old bookmark links in my computer the other day and decided to see my blog tracker.
